Please use the toggle bars below to explore the options and find out more. You can do both a morning and an afternoon slot at no extra cost!

All new members to Stage2 also get a Young Leader buddy in their first term to help them out with navigating all of our exciting opportunities and making friends.

Stage1: 9.30am-1pm

Stage1 is our group for 7-10 year olds and runs on Sunday mornings, 9.30am-1pm, which is all about having fun and making friends!  If you want your child to gain confidence, make new friends, learn a new skill and have buckets of fun, then this is definitely the option for them.

Production skills: 9.30am-1pm

This term we are going to be covering a range of skills that will improve your performances in shows, exams, workshops and beyond! We will be looking at synchronicity, freezes, background acting (movement and sound levels), physical theatre, choral speaking and voice work – as well as taking requests from participants about what you would like to explore. All of this will feed into the full programme of performances and productions we have planned for the future! Highlights will be shown in the Sharings at the end of term.

Stage3 (!)- In the second part of this session (after the break) there will be the opportunity for those over 16 to work with Liz on looking at Directing and Producing – everything from choosing plays and creating concepts, to budgets and venue hire.

General Drama - Building a Character: 1.30-5pm

We are delighted to be keeping our brilliant Workshop Leader Tom for another year to run an option for those who may not want to commit to a performance or who know they won’t be able to make some weeks. He will be looking at all the different areas you need to think about when you build a character – including working with Trestle Theatre masks (conveying a range of emotions and moods), creating scenes with different costumes and props, and teaching accents. As well as learning valuable and varied skills to feed in to your acting and drama knowledge and experience, (both inside and outside the company), there will be plenty of games and fun. Highlights will be shown to relatives and friends in the Sharings at the end of term.

Productions/Performances – Group Acting: 1.30-5pm

This term Roni will be directing either 3 or 4 (depending on numbers) short pieces to be entered for LAMDA Group Acting Exams – to give you a valuable qualification and teach you a whole heap of things along the way. The pieces will be polished performances with elements of physical theatre, stylised work and choral speaking! There will be no audition to be in these pieces and everyone will get the amount of lines they request (small or ordinary parts).

For anyone not wanting to do an exam or who can’t make the exam date – tbc later this term, there will be another group who will put together a piece from the same script as the others – they just don’t get a LAMDA certificate at the end! All the pieces will be performed for relatives, friends and maybe the public at the end of term – further details to follow.

Are you new to Stage2 and want a trial before committing?

Why not do a ‘Taster for a Tenner’? All you do is pay £10 and then if you decide to commit to us, you just pay the remainder of the fees the following week. To book your Taster, email roni.mevorach@stage2.org.

Fees

Fees for Stage2 for the term are £185 per member, and £145 for any additional siblings booked at the same time. These can be paid cash/cheque either at Stage2 on a Sunday, or posted through the door of 12 Valentine Road, B14 7AN.

To pay on PayPal, use the button on this page. Bear in mind that to pay on PayPal, we need to charge a £5 Admin Fee due to the charges from PayPal. So if you are paying for one child, it will be £190 and for two children will be £325. If the £5 Admin charge is not made, we will ask for it in a follow-up payment.

We do also offer a Taster for a Tenner, whereby you pay just £10 for your very first session, and then pay the remaining balance the following week if you decide to commit to the rest of the sessions. The remaining balance will depend on when you book – so if you book before 1st July, the discounted price will still be honoured. This can be done using the PayPal button on this page.

Additionally, we are the only Youth Theatre in the Midlands to have a fully operational Subsidy Fund that is inclusive for anyone who requires it. It is so important to us that finances aren’t a barrier to young people getting involved in the Arts, so please visit our Subsidy Fund page to find out more information and download an application form. We encourage you to contribute what you can, but both part and full subsidies are available. Please also feel free to contact Roni at roni.mevorach@stage2.org / 07951122932 to discuss this.

Please also note we do charge a £5 booking fee for online bookings, included in the price on the PayPal button.

How to Book

New members – make sure you fill in an enquiry form to register your interest and ask any questions to Roni before booking. Once you have paid, you will be sent a Registration Form to fill out.

Payment can be made via PayPal (using the button on this page) or by dropping off cash/a cheque (in a clearly labelled envelope stating your child’s name and a contact number/email) through the Stage2 Office – 12 Valentine Road, Kings Heath, B14 7AN.

At the time of booking, please state which option(s) you would like to do. If you are unsure, we would suggest trying all the ones you might want to do on the first week, then you can change your mind after that if you want to.
