What’s at stake?
Stage2 is one of Birmingham’s oldest Youth Theatre’s, since we opened in 1988 we have been offering performance opportunities in major city-centre venues and international festivals, for young people across the West Midlands.
We are one of the only open-access, intergrated youth theatre’s in the country, with a designated subsidy fund to support families from financially challenged backgrounds – we have never turned a young person away and even give our current circumstance don’t intend to start any time soon. As a registered charity, we are committed to the welfare and betterment of the experiences of young people, including world-class Qualification tuition (100% Pass Rate), Drama School Audition support, Technical and Backstage Training and more.
Stage2 Staff and members of our Board of Trustees are working hard on applying for funding as well as furloughing our core staff in a three week on, one week off period (see our Blog for more information on this!). However, even with these measures the financial security of our important, valued charity is still uncertain…
What can I do?
We recognise that though many people are saying so at the moment; we are not all in the same boat.
For many, this lockdown represents financial insecurity, isolation, increasing family tension and a whole host of other problems we may never have considered in any other circumstance. That’s why, we’re not solely asking for financial support.
If you would like to help, then please consider doing so in the following ways that best suits you:
Donate Expenditure
Due to the lockdown, many families are being forced to work from home, decreasing their outgoings for petrol or their commute. If you are in this position, why not consider donating a week’s worth of petrol money or bus/train fare to Stage2?
Set up a Regular Donation
If you’re in a position to give consistently – a donation as small as £5 a month goes a long way
Show your support on Social Media
A share and a like on any of our posts increases our likelihoods of reaching more people both during lockdown and
after the lockdown has finished.
