Stage1 (Drama for 7-10 year olds)

Pic’n’Mix.

Spring show Cast and Chorus rehearsals

Afternoon slot (1.30-5pm)

General Drama (fun drama skills for all) and the Spring Show cast rehearsals.

Please use the toggle bars below to explore the options and find out more. You can do both a morning and an afternoon slot at no extra cost!

All new members to Stage2 also get a Mentor assigned to them in their first term to help them out with navigating all of our exciting opportunities and making friends.

Stage1: 9.30am-1pm

Stage1 is our group for 7-11 year olds and runs on Sunday mornings, 9.30am-1pm. We are very exciting to be relaunching this group, which is all about fun and friends! If you want your child to gain confidence, make new friends, learn a new skill and have buckets of fun, then this is definitely the option for them. This session is lead by the wonderful Alice Berrill and Louis Delaney.

Pic'n'Mix: 9.30am-1pm

Pic’n’Mix is a wonderful opportunity for the more experienced members to give back to Stage2 and take charge of their own workshops. Supported by the multi talented Ryan Fox, Pic’n’Mix will be a term of mini workshops led by peers that will explore a multitude of aspects found within Theatre. More details to follow soon!

Spring Show Cast & Chorus: 9.30am-1pm

This is an opportunity to get involved with the debut show of our Performances Manager: Mark Shaun Walsh. Whilst we cannot reveal the show just yet, this is a great chance to get stuck into an emotionally expansive performance, which will touch on movement based theatre, naturalism and Theatre of the Absurd.

Anybody can join the chorus without any auditions.

General Drama: 1.30-5pm

We are delighted to be welcoming back Louis Delaney to run this option this term. They had a fantastic career in Stage2 – obtaining the highest Grades possible in Acting, Devising and Shakespeare, running the Mentor Scheme, as well as setting up Chickenscratch Theatre Company with fellow Stage2 alumni Elijah Dix and Daisy Wilkes.
They are an experienced playworker and still work for Woodcraft Folk. This will be the usual mix of exercises to give you a grounding in all aspects of performance. As well as learning valuable and varied skills to feed into your acting and drama knowledge and experience, (both inside and outside the company), there will be plenty of games and fun. Highlights will be shown to relatives and friends in the Sharings at the end of term.

Spring Show Cast Rehearsals: 1.30-5pm

We will be auditioning for the cast of the Spring show with current members at the end of the Autumn Term 2025.

The Afternoon rehearsals for the Spring show will allow the rehearsing of less chorus heavy scenes to be continued into the afternoon.

‘Contracts’ detailing the commitment are available at Stage2 on a Sunday. If any chorus members would like to stick around for the afternoon session they are very welcome to. They may also get to join in some additional scenes.

Are you new to Stage2 and want a trial before committing?

Why not do a ‘Taster for a Tenner’? All you do is pay £10 and then if you decide to commit to us, you just pay the remainder of the fees the following week. To book your Taster, email rosie.nisbet@stage2.org.

Fees

Fees for Stage2 for the term are £180 (£185 on PayPal) per member, and £140 (£145 on PayPal) for any additional siblings booked at the same time, if you pay by 1st November, after which they go up to £190 (£150). These can be paid cash/cheque either at Stage2 on a Sunday, or posted through the door of 12 Valentine Road, B14 7AN.

To pay on PayPal, use the button on this page. Bear in mind that to pay on PayPal, we need to charge a £5 Admin Fee due to the charges from PayPal. So if you are paying for one child, it will be £185 and for two children will be £325 BEFORE 1st November. After 1st November, it will be £195 for one child and £345 for 2 children. If the £5 Admin charge is not made, we will ask for it in a follow-up payment.

We do also offer a Taster for a Tenner, whereby you pay just £10 for your very first session, and then pay the remaining balance the following week if you decide to commit to the rest of the sessions. The remaining balance will depend on when you book – so if you book before 1st March, the discounted price will still be honoured. This can be done using the PayPal button on this page.

Additionally, we are the only Youth Theatre in the Midlands to have a fully operational Subsidy Fund that is inclusive for anyone who requires it. It is so important to us that finances aren’t a barrier to young people getting involved in the Arts, so please visit our Subsidy Fund page to find out more information and download an application form. We encourage you to contribute what you can, but both part and full subsidies are available. Please also feel free to contact Mark at markshaun.walsh@stage2.org, Liz at liz.light@stage2.org 07951122932 to discuss this.

Please also note we do charge a £5 booking fee for online bookings, included in the price on the PayPal button.

How to Book

New members – make sure you fill in an enquiry form to register your interest and ask any questions to Roni before booking. Once you have paid, you will be sent a Registration Form to fill out.

Payment can be made via PayPal (using the button on this page) or by dropping off cash/a cheque (in a clearly labelled envelope stating your child’s name and a contact number/email) through the Stage2 Office – 12 Valentine Road, Kings Heath, B14 7AN.

At the time of booking, please state which option(s) you would like to do. If you are unsure, we would suggest trying all the ones you might want to do on the first week, then you can change your mind after that if you want to.
