Please use the toggle bars below to explore the options and find out more. You can do both a morning and an afternoon slot at no extra cost!

All new members to Stage2 also get a Young Leader buddy in their first term to help them out with navigating all of our exciting opportunities and making friends.

Stage1: 9.30am-1pm

Stage1 will continue in the morning slot, doing the same lovely mix of games and exercises. This group is for 7–11-year-olds, but if you know any 6-year-olds who would like to join, please tell us…! Stage1 is designed so that everyone can have fun and make friends, whilst building confidence and drama skills! You will then work towards producing a fabulous Sharing at the end of term, showcasing everything you have learnt to relatives and friends!

AUTUMN SHOW Buy Little, Buy Less, Buy Nothing at All (Cast and Chorus): 9.30am-1pm

This is the World Premiere of the only unpublished play by acclaimed playwright and practitioner Claire Dowie (Stage2’s patron)! Claire is a writer, performer, poet, comedian and pioneer of Stand Up Theatre, with an acclaimed and lauded career spanning 40 years. Liz will be directing this production which has been specially adapted for Stage2 by Claire – moving it from London to Birmingham. Liz will rework the monologue into a full blown play with a large cast – as she has with many of Claire’s other texts (published in a compilation by Methuen Bloomsbury).

The play is about consumerism – do we really need to buy as much as we do, as often as we do? Some scenes are sad, some are funny, some are powerful – all will make you think.
‘Watching Stage2 is a joy, working with them is a gift. They speak individually and collectively of optimism, cooperation and belief.’ C.Dowie

Morning Workshop - Over to You! : 9.30am-1pm

We are definitely continuing with our morning workshops to make sure there are options in both parts of the day that all members can do! It will continue to vary from term to term, and we may well bring back Pic n Mix and Friends and Fun in future terms, so that leaves Autumn….
We have several ideas – maybe Offstage (following Production Skills and Stage3) where we look at different areas each week including lighting, set, costume design, directing, marketing etc, or maybe another General
Drama with a different tutor and different games and exercises, or maybe something else that you are bursting to do. We want you to put your suggestions into the Stage2 box in Reception before half term, and then in the second half of term we will have a vote for the most popular! Any that don’t get chosen for the Autumn will be incorporated into the future – either as term options or short holiday courses.
Whilst you are at it – why don’t you put in suggestions for future productions too…?

General Drama: 1.30-5pm

We are delighted to be welcoming back Louis Delaney to run this option this term. They had a fantastic career in Stage2 – obtaining the highest Grades possible in Acting, Devising and Shakespeare, running the Mentor Scheme, as well as setting up Chickenscratch Theatre Company with fellow Stage2 alumni Elijah Dix and Daisy Wilkes.
They are an experienced playworker and still work for Woodcraft Folk. This will be the usual mix of exercises to give you a grounding in all aspects of performance. As well as learning valuable and varied skills to feed into your acting and drama knowledge and experience, (both inside and outside the company), there will be plenty of games and fun. Highlights will be shown to relatives and friends in the Sharings at the end of term.

AUTUMN SHOW Buy Little, Buy Less, Buy Nothing at All (cast) : 1.30-5pm

Show rehearsals continue into the afternoon with cast and crew.

Are you new to Stage2 and want a trial before committing?

Why not do a ‘Taster for a Tenner’? All you do is pay £10 and then if you decide to commit to us, you just pay the remainder of the fees the following week. To book your Taster, email roni.mevorach@stage2.org.

Fees for Stage2 for the term are £180 (£185 on PayPal) per member, and £140 (£145 on PayPal) for any additional siblings booked at the same time, if you pay by 1st July, after which they go up to £190 (£150). These can be paid cash/cheque either at Stage2 on a Sunday, or posted through the door of 12 Valentine Road, B14 7AN.

If the £5 Admin charge is not made, we will ask for it in a follow-up payment.

We do also offer a Taster for a Tenner, whereby you pay just £10 for your very first session, and then pay the remaining balance the following week if you decide to commit to the rest of the sessions. The remaining balance will depend on when you book – so if you book before 1st March, the discounted price will still be honoured. This can be done using the PayPal button on this page.

Additionally, we are the only Youth Theatre in the Midlands to have a fully operational Subsidy Fund that is inclusive for anyone who requires it. It is so important to us that finances aren’t a barrier to young people getting involved in the Arts, so please visit our Subsidy Fund page to find out more information and download an application form. We encourage you to contribute what you can, but both part and full subsidies are available. Please also feel free to contact Roni at roni.mevorach@stage2.org, Liz at liz.light@stage2.org 07951122932 to discuss this.

Please also note we do charge a £5 booking fee for online bookings, included in the price on the PayPal button.
