@ Queensbridge School, Queensbridge Road, Moseley, B13 8QB
Stage2 are proud to be offering a range of exciting workshop opportunities to our members in the Spring of 2023. Whether you want to hone your skills in General Drama or learn new skills in Physical Theatre and Musical Theatre, we have the options for you! We also have frequent social and performance events for our members, and pride ourselves on bursting with opportunity. Additionally, every single new member gets ‘buddied up’ with one of our lovely Young Leaders, who helps to introduce you to the world of Stage2 and all it has to offer.
Use the Toggle Bars below to discover the options available to you:
Morning Options: 9.30am-1pm
Stage1 (Drama for 7-10s)
Stage1 is our group for 7-10 year olds and runs on Sunday mornings, 9.30am-1pm. Stage1 was relaunched in the Autumn Term with great success, seeing a great group of children have lots of fun and soar in their confidence. If you want your child to gain confidence, make new friends, learn a new skill and have buckets of fun, then this is definitely the option for them. This option is run by the amazing Olivia, who is delighted to be doing another term with Stage1.
Stage2 has been known for its Physical Theatre Productions for quite some time now, and is also a passion of our Artistic Director, Rosie. This option is specifically designed to feed into our Summer Term Production of Lord of the Flies, which will be in the Crescent Theatre Main House (a 300+ seater venue!). This will be a truly exciting and ambitious project, aiming to add a physical theatre twist on the classic text. So, we are getting ahead of the game and spending the Spring Term getting to grips with the essentials of this skill.
Anyone interested in being in our epic Summer Show should do this workshop, particularly if you are interested in having a main part! However, you also don’t need to be wanting to be in the show to take part. All you need to do this option is a willingness to learn and enthusiasm (plus loose clothes and lots of water!). This option is run by our Artistic Director, Rosie.
Afternoon Options (1.30pm-5pm)
General Drama is our termly workshop option, open to everyone in the company, and runs on Sunday afternoons 1.30-5pm. This option is open to all members and is a great chance to learn or further develop the core drama skills. Each week, you have a different focus that is woven into a termly theme, and you will explore the key drama skills through games and exercises: making this a fun, friendly and more ‘informal’ option for members to take.
This term’s theme will be: Back to Basics. A chance to learn all core performance skills, or deepen your understanding of them. It will be a thoroughly enjoyable term, run once again by the brilliant Becca.
As voted for by members, we will also be running a Musical Theatre Workshop. We know that a lot of our members love Musical Theatre, but rarely get the chance to explore this skill set as a ‘one off’, so that’s exactly what we’re bringing you. Each week, we’ll explore a different Musical, getting to know some of the most famous (and some slightly obscure) shows. We’ll look at different singing and dance techniques that will be both beginner-friendly and stretch those who already have experience and want to go further. It’s not about if you can already sing and dance brilliantly, it’s about your desire to learn and give it a go!
This option will be run by our Artistic Director, Rosie, who, as many of you know, LOVES Musical Theatre and is really excited to share this passion with Stage2 for the Spring Term 2023.
Are you new to Stage2 and want a trial before committing?
Why not do a ‘Taster for a Tenner’? All you do is pay £10 and then if you decide to commit to us, you just pay the remainder of the fees the following week. To book your Taster, email email@example.com.
The fees to become a member of Stage2 are £175 per term (£135 per additional sibling booked at the same time). This covers you to do as many options as you want: you can do just one session or the whole day – the choice Is entirely yours and the price does not change. If you do all day, Stage2 works out at just £2.50 per hour – a real bargain!
We do also offer a Taster for a Tenner, whereby you pay just £10 for your very first session, and then pay the remaining balance the following week if you decide to commit to the rest of the sessions. This can be done using the PayPal button on this page.
Additionally, we are the only Youth Theatre in the Midlands to have a fully operational Subsidy Fund that is inclusive for anyone who requires it. It is so important to us that finances aren’t a barrier to young people getting involved in the Arts, so please visit our Subsidy Fund page to find out more information and download an application form. We encourage you to contribute what you can, but both part and full subsidies are available. Please also feel free to contact Rosie at firstname.lastname@example.org / 07951122932 to discuss this.
How to Book
Current members – you can book throughout the rest of the Autumn Term with Liz/Rosie when you drop off/collect at Queensbridge School.
