Information: As part of our Big Lottery Project we run an intensive Tutor Training Scheme whereby older and more experienced members of Stage2 are given full training and support to enable them to get more involved in the running of the company and the delivery of our programme. Together with our Core Staff and a Board representative, these Trainees form our Management Team, which constantly reassesses all policies and procedures, adapting them where necessary. Trainees have weekly meetings to discuss opportunities/ask questions and have detailed appraisals once a year with an action plan of further training; when they leave the company they are given a full exit interview and testimonial. Tutors can specialise in areas such as Technical Leader - responsible for overseeing our backstage teams, or LAMDA Tutor teaching our members for the lower grades. They can also run their own sessions and workshops. (The options are related to their age ie only CRB checked, over 18 year olds will run their own session - though we do currently have a 16 year old administrator!) Training is balanced between the specific - eg Creative Play for the under 10's, to the more general eg Counselling, First Aid, etc and is delivered both in house and externally. Some sessions are organised for the group and some are on a one to one basis - depending on the individual's requests and requirements. We also encourage the Trainees to network with other organisations and companies and they represent us at, or accompany us to, a wide range of functions and events. Potential trainees state their interest and then we interview them as vacancies arise. We have at least 6 trainees at any time.
