Information: My brother, Ethan, joined Stage2 in 2008 and ever since I saw my first Stage2 show (“Teechers” By John Godber) I was adamant that I was going to join. I came into the 2008 summer schools and joined the “General Drama” workshop. I really enjoyed the feeling and atmosphere at Stage2 which made me feel, although I had been there for less than a day by this point, like part of the company. After my first day at the summer schools I asked my parents to book me in for the autumn term!

In my first term, I was already getting ready to be a carol singer in William Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night”, which I enjoyed thoroughly. And by my second term I had been cast as one of the voices in Dylan Thomas’ “Under Milk Wood” and I have been in many other plays since from “Shakers” to Shakespeare and “Arsehammers”!
More recently I joined the Marketing Committee and I am currently learning loads about marketing which I am sure will help me in later life. I am currently doing the Technical Workshop and learning all the backstage aspects of the shows and I am also an assistant for Stage1 which is enormous fun and I think anyone who might be considering being a Stage1 assistant or joining Stage1 should definitely go for it.

I owe so much to everyone in Stage2 and I love the company to bits! I will always wear my “I love Stage2” t-shirt with pride.

"Without the subsidy policy I would have had to leave the company years ago as we could just not afford the fees for both me and my sister. If I had have left I would have never made any of the brilliant friends that are dear to me now nor would I have had some of the best experiences of my life on exchanges, study days and on stage. Most importantly, without the subsidy fund I would never have been able to hone my skills as an actor which I hope will lead me into a long career. I owe a lot to the subsidy fund."
