Being 19 when I joined, I joined as one of the older members of Stage2. In my first term I did the General Drama option, but after seeing my first Stage 2 show, “Twelfth Night” I decided that I definitely wanted to be in the next production. I am now in the cast of “Under Milk Wood”, the current production, and am looking forward to the next show “Shakers” in which I have a main cast role.
Stage 2 is a really dynamic company, which has such levels of organisation, and so many opportunities (including Stage1 for younger children) that I have not encountered in any other youth group. I think Stage2 is ideal for people who are interested in any aspect of drama, because the opportunities are endless and constantly changing.
This term I decided that I wanted to take one of the LAMDA exams that Stage2 offer tutoring for. Performing at the LAMDA evening was a really great experience. It gives you the opportunity to perform individually as well as watch your friends, and other members of Stage2 doing an array of different disciplines, such as solo acting, group acting, musical theatre and mime.
I would recommend Stage2 to anyone who is interested in drama, or to anyone who just wants to gain confidence around people or to make friends. Stage2 are a very welcoming company, whatever age, and I would recommend anyone to give them a try. |
