Information: When I first joined Stage2 I was terrified but had such a lot of fun that all my worries vanished. I spent about two years in the company doing workshops such as Greek Theatre and War Poetry, but I also did The Witches, Equus and The Snow Queen. It was great but unlike now, I did not get to know everyone or do everything. I was focused on school work and friends because I found secondary school a social challenge. I swapped schools soon after I joined Stage2 and did other activities. I left Stage2 before my GCSEs because I did not feel that I could manage the time. After a long break, I ended up at sixth form with a girl who was at Stage2. She convinced me to rejoin. I decided to take advantage of everything Stage2 could offer me. I threw myself straight into doing every play that was on and got up the courage to audition in my first term back. I was chorus in Two on my return and to my astonishment, I was given the part of Rebecca Nurse in the Crucible. It was such a shock and so much fun. After the Crucible, I dropped out of college, and being at Stage2 gave me something to focus on and really helped me stay on track. I auditioned for Lord of the Flies and, again, to my great surprise and absolute joy, was given the part of Jaq, which I loved. It was a challenge but was worth it! In the winter of 2008, I assistant directed The Shadow of a Gunman. This was one of the best terms I have had in Stage2. I learnt so much about the work that goes into a production and I found it greatly rewarding. I am leaving at the end of this term in which, to my excitement, I am running Stage1 and doing Tales from the Classics. I am so happy that I have belonged to Stage2 and cannot wait for what is in store for the rest of this term and the summer.

Stage2 gives these young people a sense of purpose, a sense of direction, a sense of belonging.
