Information: My younger brother had been in Stage2 many years before I joined, and I somehow managed to resist his desperate pleas for me to join. You see, I was incredibly nervous before Stage2, and my brother knew it would help me – but I couldn’t bring myself to enter such a large group of young people. Not joining earlier is now probably the only regret in my life. When I finally joined the company (after a dare by Liz Light herself!), Stage2 totally changed me as a person. Everyone is so friendly, supportive, and caring – and provide such a safe and secure environment, both practically and emotionally. I flourished in the company, becoming more confident, open and just generally more happy. I have so many friends from Stage2, and I feel I can talk to anyone and really be myself – a truly liberating feeling! With my newfound confidence, I launched straight into a chorus part of ‘Midsummer Night’s Dream’, where I learnt that I actually have a love of acting, and that Shakespeare really isn’t that bad! In my second term, I entered the ‘Tales from the Classics’, and ‘Introduction to Shakespeare’ workshops, both were informative and incredibly enjoyable. My new interest in Shakespeare – developed further by the workshop, led me to audition for a part in ‘Twelfth Night’, and I gained a small cast part – my first! I also did a Grade 4 Group LAMDA exam performing ‘The Tempest’ – yet more Shakespeare! I now very much enjoy acting, but for me the most important part of Stage2 is the incredible people who make up the company. I hope that through being a Mentor I can help other people enjoy the company, and benefit from it as much as I have. I owe so much to all these incredible people, and now want to give something back. It is certainly clear that my journey in Stage2 is only just beginning..!

Every member of this remarkable young team brims with bubbling commitment.
