Information: Unlike many of my fellow members at Stage2, I haven't been interested in the theatre for very long, in fact, I only discovered my passion for it at the age of 15, and have only become obsessed with it since I joined Stage2. I was introduced to Stage2 when I went to see their production of Arthur Miller's "The Crucible" At first I thought nothing of it. Then the play started. And I was shocked. I had no idea that this company was a youth theatre; I couldn't believe that these people were the same age as me; the quality of the play was monumental! And certainly better than any mainstream show I’d seen up until that point, it broke down every misguided preconception that I had about the world of theatre. Truth be told, I picked up a registration form and booked as soon as I could. Since then I hope that I have blossomed within the company, my confidence (though I still have a lot to develop) has doubled, and I am now a determined, dedicated young actor and I have so many more opportunities, provided by Stage2, to discover and explore. My roles in the company so far have been very simple; I waited two terms before attempting my first show and much to my delight I was cast as Seamus Shields in the autumn production of "The Shadow of a Gunman" a play that I was also studying at the time, which made a massive improvement in my exams because I could clearly articulate how I would display certain characters. I learnt more in that one show than I had in any show I had been in, I learnt that quality is not something to be feared, that I can always be better than what I am doing and that being in the theatre is hard; but I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
