Information: I first heard about Stage2 from my director at another theatre company. He told me I would be able to take more away from Stage2, and he was right. To begin with I found Stage2 quite intimidating. Everyone seemed to know exactly what they were doing, except me. But once I started getting to know people and making friends, Stage2 became a place of refuge for me. It was a place where it didn’t matter what was happening at home or school. In return for hard work I got to be part of an amazing company that put together awe-inspiring shows.
During my first term in Stage2 I chose to be in the chorus of the main show, “Equus”. It was an intense show, especially at the age 12. But by persevering throughout the term and production week I was reward with an experience that taught me a lot about the focus and perseverance I have relied on throughout my life.
My best moment in Stage2 was when I talked to my Mum after she watched “Requiem for Ground Zero” which I was part of the chorus for. My Mum couldn’t believe how well it had been directed, and how amazing the set design was. It was after watching this show that she realised the jaw-dropping standard of Stage2 shows. I was also in the chorus of “Why is John Lennon Wearing a Skirt?” I was a minor in “To Kill a Mocking Bird” as part of the kids mob, and I was cast in “Children’s Hour”, as Lillian, and “Oliver Twist”, as a Nurse and Lady Grabbit. Stage2 made such a lasting impression on my life that I have now returned for my gap year after nearly 4 years living in Oxford. This term, Autumn 2009, I am cast in Twelfth Night as a member of Orsino’s court, and I am working on my Grade 6 LAMDA qualification. I have also joined the Marketing Committee. Stage2 offers so many opportunities, and I have tried to take advantage of as many as possible.

The acting of every single one of the children / young people was excellent; the sound and lighting were expertly handled; and the direction was superb in all respects.  Spoonface was a production that would not have disgraced the West End
