Information: I joined Stage1 because my friends went there and they liked it and I like acting. I was shy at first but then I got more confident and had more fun! I then heard about Spoonface Steinberg in Stage2. I auditioned and I got a part. I made even more friends and I got a buddy whom I could ask anything and I also got a Mentor buddy who helped me and I could ask him anything too. Mentors really help and come and speak to you. The number 1 rule of Stage2 is: “ Nobody is ever left out”. You perform in front of lots of people but Stage2 stops that from getting scary. I was a fairy in A Midsummer Night's Dream. I wondered how chorus would be. It's just as fun but you don't get lines. It may have been a Shakespeare performed by 7-21 year olds but all the audience I know said that it was brilliant! A very good thing in Stage2 is that you mix the age groups and I know a lot of older members. I was in the BDTG performance – it was like a camp for a week but in the end you perform. We did perform at the LAMDA evening too. I thought LAMDA looked fun so I did LAMDA one term. I was Fat Sam, which was nice. You don't only act your piece but you learn other stuff like about Uta Hagen. I got Distinction. I then auditioned for Twelfth Night and got to be Fabian. Another Shakespeare, but believe me the blocking is fun so far. I have also joined the Marketing Committee to get more involved. Stage 2 is very good. You don't have to know how to act; you just have to know how to have fun!

The spirit of this company is amazing. These young people tackle the seemingly impossible with such energy and commitment. Yes they are talented, but for me as a Secondary School Teacher it is their determination that is inspirational.
