Information: I have had a huge interest in drama for as long as I can remember, but due to my then low confidence levels I never thought myself to be good enough to pursue my interests further. As I was flying through year 11 I thought it was best, considering I would be starting college in a few months time, that I joined a youth group to build up my confidence as I knew that I would find it difficult to talk to people and make friends at college. I then found out about Stage2 from a few of my friends who are company members. I learnt that they prided themselves on their motto “nobody is ever left out” which I knew would help with my confidence. I then learnt that the company was a youth theatre. Confidence boosters and my theatre interest combined, perfect! I then eventually, after a lot of persuasion, decided to join as a shy school boy with very low confidence levels. On my first day I found everyone to be really nice and smiley and very talkative, which was a confidence boost in itself. Then I decided to join the Marketing Committee as I wanted to become an active member of the company. I was a bit apprehensive at first about joining the Marketing Committee as no other new members were doing it and I didn’t know if I would be accepted or not, but, to my surprise I was accepted straight away and was treated the same as everyone else. One term on from joining Stage2 I found myself to be full of a lot more confidence than when I first joined; I’m even starting to have LAMDA lessons now, which will be even more of a confidence boost for me. I can honestly say that Stage2 has changed my life for the better and I urge anyone who is a bit reluctant to join to just go for it! Stage2 helps you, a lot!

Mastery of the script, as is expected of Stage2. However many times I see this ever changing young company, I am amazed by the wealth of talent.
