Information: When I joined Stage2 I already had quite a few friends in the company and I was really interested in drama so it just seemed logical to join. Despite having acted before and been quite a confident person, I was pretty nervous on my first day. As soon I walked through the doors of Millennium Point and over towards the gaggle of other kids, one of them said "you here for Stage2" and just started talking to me. I was quite taken aback and thought they were just a mega-confident member of the company but after being here for over a year now I realise that we're all like that and that's one of the main reasons that I'm so proud to be a member of Stage2. I applied to be a Mentor and I joined the fundraising committee. Both of these were pretty amazing opportunities and have taught me loads. Being a Mentor is probably my favourite thing about Stage2. Don't get me wrong - I LOVE acting and I do it as much as I can, in and outside of Stage2; but being a Mentor has really changed me as a person. Without Stage2 I would definitely be less caring and thoughtful than I am now and being a Mentor has really taught me no one should ever be left out. Over the time I have been a Mentor I have seen the scheme help lots of people in lots of different ways and I thoroughly believe that it will continue to do so for the rest of the company's history. In my third term at Stage2, I was faced with the challenge of playing Davoren in "The Shadow of a Gunman." Before the audition I had never heard of the play and when I read it the first time I was VERY daunted. I had over 300 lines and to be honest - I didn't really understand what was going on. Doing the show was a huge learning curve and by the final run of the term, I actually felt prepared to go onstage and perform this role I had previously thought to be impossible. Throughout the term, Stage2 gave me all the support I needed and my admiration for the company flourished. Being in a show and watching it come to life around you and getting to perform in a professional theatre space is one of the most satisfying things you can do and Stage2 offers that to everyone.

I feel not only proud, but incredibly lucky to have been part of Stage2.
