My brother who used to be in the company told me loads about Stage2; I was very interested about the company because I had always wanted to be a director at that age. But soon I found I didn't really care about what I wanted to be as Stage2 showed me so many opportunities and really helped my confidence. When I joined my brother (who was a Mentor at the time) showed me around. This helped me a lot as he introduced me to some lovely people. Then I sat in admin with my pen and paper, I felt worried, but then I realised that there was no point worrying because it was informal and I felt comfortable. While I have been a Stage2 I have learnt so much. I have been on and stayed on the Marketing Committee and I have just rejoined the Fundraising Committee. My first cast show was 'Two' playing 'boy' I have also been in other show such as 'Lord of the Flies' playing a minor and been in the chorus in 'Teechers' and 'Much Ado About Nothing' and played 'Mustardseed' in 'A Midsummer Nights' Dream' as well as Assistant in General Drama. But I've also done much more acting in LAMDA. My first LAMDA piece was a group piece, I really enjoyed doing it and was extremely happy that I got a Distinction for it too. But I am also extremely happy because I'm going to Butlins this year with Stage2. I love that side of Stage2 so much - I'm already planning what to sing on karaoke. However of all things I really love being a Mentor and helping everyone I can. I've had lots of Mentor training which is helped me to become better at something I didn't think I would be able to do. Stage2 has helped me realise how confident I can be and has helped in every area of my life. I am extremely fully grateful. |
