During the summer I was really looking for something to do with my gap year. I am always keen at acting and I spotted Stage2 listed on a group of Birmingham Theatre groups in a leaflet at the library. After going on the website and reading the brochure I was rearing to join. I joined and was amazed at the organisation and how well it was planned out. I have appeared as a Chorus member in Shadow of a Gunman (coincidentally the play I had just done for A Level and some of my old notes came in handy). I thoroughly enjoyed working for the camera. I am also doing A Midsummer Nights Dream as a Courtier. In addition I have joined the Marketing Committee and afternoon General Drama, which I think has made me a better actor and enabled me to see the work that goes into running a company. I have taken part in the BDTG Festival at February half term, where my group performed in front of the Mayor of Solihull. I would recommend doing LAMDA to anyone who is serious about acting because it is one of the things offered here that you would struggle to find anywhere else. Stage2 has really given me an incentive to get out of bed on Saturday mornings and I feel committed towards achieving as much as I can from it. Whilst here I have made plenty of friends, something made easier because you share the same interests with the other people. |
