Information: I joined Stage2 because my sister recommended it to me. Before Stage2 I was at the BSA (Birmingham School of Acting) and I felt it was time to move on from there. I joined Stage2 for one term just to see how it was and whether I would enjoy it. The only person I knew when I first joined was my sister, but I had met a couple of her friends that go to Stage2, so I was rather scared when I joined. I decided to be in a show in my first term because my sister was in it and it sounded like fun. So I did a term of being in the chorus of The Crucible. In that term I made a lot of friends and had a good time being in the chorus. After that I decided to stay on in the company. I had heard news that the next term’s show would be a comedy called Teechers and so I thought, as I knew I was going to come back, that I should audition for a cast role. I learnt a piece and decided to go for the audition. In the audition I performed my piece along with watching everyone else’s and took part in the other activities such as height lines, improvisation etc. I thought I did pretty well. Then after a while the cast lists were announced. I was ecstatic that I was not only a cast character I was one of the 4 lead characters. So I did a term of Teechers. It was a term full of learning lines and moves and expanding on what we had learnt. By the time the show began I was ready and proud. It was with no doubt the best thing I have done in my life.

Storytelling with a difference - funny, too - but far deeper than any comedian would dare. Dowie is definitely worth catching.
