What is the time commitment for each option?

Answer

Workshops require the least time commitment, taking place either in a morning, (9.30am to 1pm) or an afternoon session (1.30pm to 5pm). There are two types of workshop – General Drama which does not require any extra work in the week, and where each session is self-contained so you can miss as many sessions as you need to – and Skills Workshops which do require some thinking time or occasional prep-work before a session and where some topics are covered more thoroughly, developing over several sessions.

Taking part in a show definitely requires putting in time in the week to learn scenes, sort out and prepare costume and developing your character. If you are in the Chorus of a show you will need to do the morning sessions, plus some afternoons when we have full runs of the productions followed by notes. You can miss weeks, but you cannot miss more than two. Cast are selected through auditions, and need to stay all day and cannot miss a week. Depending on the show (eg full length Shakespeare!) there may be additional rehearsals during the term, to be scheduled at everyone’s convenience.

This latest Stage2 offering can only be described as a remarkable piece by a remarkable cast. (Spoonface Steinberg 2002)
