Because we believe that children should be able to pass it on. We give out so many newsletters, forms, sheets etc that it would be a logistical nightmare to send them to parents ? we would be constantly photocopying, stuffing envelopes etc and the time and expense would be ridiculous and far better spent directly on members! We always send out a huge Summer newsletter directly to families, reflecting back on the last year and looking forward to the next one, but feel very strongly that the emphasis should be on individuals to be responsible for themselves and ensure they keep parents up to date with everything else. We also encourage members to write down points in admin and we reinforce/remind members about things to make sure everyone has every possible opportunity to find things out. Our Company Noticeboard and Print Table are constantly updated and all members check these when they arrive each week. If any child misses a week they are encouraged to catch up on everything they miss from another company member.
