Spring Term 2018
The Spring Term is just beyond the horizon and our doors are still wide open to any young person, regardless of background, ability or circumstance!
Production: Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Stars
by Gervase Phinn (adapted by Liz Light)
Following the huge sell-out success of A Wayne in a Manger last January, Stage2 return to the works of the Sunday Times Best-Selling Author for a much requested sequel. This time we see the children presenting not Nativity Scenes but a Talent Show for the hallowed School Inspector, as they perform poems (also courtesy of Gervase) with varying degrees of aplomb and ambition, style and success.
We guarantee a place for everyone in this production, without even auditioning.
The likelihood is that anyone reading this email isn’t going to be 7-10, so adults: if you know anyone with young people who might want to have some quiet time on a Saturday (3.5 hours!), have their kids gain confidence, make friends or learn another skill set, then let them know about Stage1!
Offstage: Puppet Building
Learn practical skills in puppet building & operating in a term of constructing larger than life puppet-versions of fabulous beasts from Homer’s Odyssey (Hydra, Cyclops, Cerberus Minotaur etc.).
General Drama: Skills
Specific skills that will help you in school, in your GCSE’s and A Levels, in LAMDA exams and in interviews & auditions. Explore characterisation and physicality alongside team-building and presentation skills. An end of term Sharing will allow you to present your work to friends & family.
