Adult Child Dead Child - Claire Dowie (Adapted by James Yarker)7th-21st August

Bedlam Theatre, Edinburgh

"Even if you think you know it well, you will never have seen it quite like this. Stage2's production doesn't so much open up the monologue as shatter it. James Yarker, from experimental theatre company Stan's Cafe, directs as if in the eye of a hurricane, a device that increases the intensity of the piece so the emotion is so explosive it can hardly be contained." The Guardian. "A fantastic piece of theatre...brilliantly conveyed by a sixteen strong ensemble." Three Weeks. "Astonishingly mature performances from the youthful cast." Theatre Review. "The perfect cast for Claire Dowie's popular monologue. Sensational performances in an adaptation of wit and passion." The Scotsman

"Without the subsidy policy I would have had to leave the company years ago as we could just not afford the fees for both me and my sister. If I had have left I would have never made any of the brilliant friends that are dear to me now nor would I have had some of the best experiences of my life on exchanges, study days and on stage. Most importantly, without the subsidy fund I would never have been able to hone my skills as an actor which I hope will lead me into a long career. I owe a lot to the subsidy fund."
